Wolf, Shane nee Zien age 84, of St. Louis Park, died suddenly January 26, 2008. She was born and raised in Duluth. Shane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an accomplished musician and played viola da gamba for many years with the baroque ensemble, Musica Antiqua and the cello with the Northeast Orchestra (Fridley Community Orchestra) and was a strong supporter of civil rights and liberal causes. Shane enjoyed various sports which included her passion for golf and running which she took up in the youth of her 50's and continued through her 70's. Her sharp wit and sense of humor was always a source of enjoyment. Preceded in death by husband, Felix; parents, Isadore & Sarah Zien; sister, Ruth Heller and brothers, James and Leonard. Survived by son, Jonathan, New York; daughter and son-in-law, Julia & Mark Gerstein, Highland Park, IL; grandchildren, Alison and Evan Gerstein; sisters-in-law, Lois Zien and Margot Wolf; niece and nephew, Sara and Peter Zien; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Funeral service WEDNESDAY 12 NOON, ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 Hillside Lane, Minnetonka. Memorials are preferred to Northeast Orchestra, 1451 Glacier Lane N.E., Fridley, MN 55421 or The A.C.L.U. or the donor's favorite charity.
